MU OET 2017 Eligibility Criteria

 

MU OET Eligibility Criteria 2017 give details about the eligibility conditions set by Manipal University, which need to be fulfilled by aspiring candidates in order to be eligible for appearing in MU OET 2017.

  • Aspirants are required to have passed and obtained 50% marks in Physics and Mathematics, and any one of the optional subjects in 10+2 or A Level or IB or American 12th grade or equivalent.

MU OET 2017 Online slot booking

 

Manipal University (MU) OET 2017 Slot Booking will be held from March 24 to April 10, 2017. Candidates, who have successfully submitted their application form for MU OET 2017, have to do MU OET Online slot booking 2017 to book their exam centre, time slot and date for taking the entrance examination. Online slot booking of MU OET 2017 is mandatory for all applicants. MU OET 2017 online slot booking will be done through Online Test Booking System (OTBS) in three attempts. Applicants have to book their test slots within the scheduled dates released by Manipal University. Once a candidate has booked his/her slot for MU OET 2017, then he/she can’t change it under any circumstances.

MU OET 2017 Admit Card/Hall Ticket

 

MU OET Admit Card 2017 will only be available for the candidates who will have booked their slots for MU OET 2017 online. The Hall Ticket of MU OET 2017 is an important document and will be required as an identity of proof to appear in MU OET 2017. The hall ticket of MU OET 2017 will be available after 24 hours of the submission of application form of MU OET 2017. MU OET 2017 admit card will bear the candidates name, roll number, details of the exam centre with time and schedule, course applied for, etc.

MIT offers a Bachelor’s and Master’s program in engineering streams. It also gives students the option to carry out full-time or part time research. The minimum duration for postgraduate qualified PhD students is three years for full time, and four years for part-time. There is a one year relaxation for applicants with an MPhil degree

Merit List: General Category: Based on the marks obtained in MU-OET, Manipal University will declare a list of all candidates appeared for the entrance test on or before 26.05.2016 in the website. In case of two or more candidates obtaining equal marks, the  inter-se merit of such candidates will be determined on the basis of higher marks in the order of preference as under:

•              Mathematics in MU-OET 2016

•              Physics in MU-OET 2016

•              Chemistry in MU-OET2016

•              PCM marks in 10+2

•              In case marks secured in the above are equal, the candidate senior in age will be ranked higher

ADMISSIONS PROCEDURE

Indian: Admissions to some of the courses, Medicine & Engineering in particular, are done through a process which has an online test followed by counselling, which eventually leads to the admission of a student. Admissions are either through online entrance test or are based on qualifying examination marks.

 

International: Foreign nationals, Non Resident Indians or Indian nationals supported by NRI relatives can apply under Foreign/NRI category. Admissions are done on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination.

 

Candidates can apply either under General category or Foreign/NRI category. Those submitting applications under both General category and Foreign/NRI categories will be considered only under the General category. Change of category at a later stage is not possible. For MBBS, BDS and BArch Foreign and NRI students studying abroad or if studying in India can be sponsored by only parents who have NRI status.

 

For candidates applying for the MD/MS/PG Medical Diploma courses he/she must be an NRI or supported by either Parents or Brothers or Sisters or Spouse having an NRI status. Candidates supported by cousin brother/cousin sister, uncle, aunt, brother/sister-in-law or any other person will not be accepted.

 

 However, for all other courses, candidates can be sponsored by parents, brothers and sisters of parents or even their own brothers and sisters with NRI status.

COUNSELLING PROCEDURE


A) Come prepared for counselling

 

Ø  Candidates should ensure that they fulfill the eligibility requirements given in page no. 40 of the Prospectus 2016.

 

Ø  Documents Check Lists

o    e-Hall Ticket

o    10th standard marks card for proof of date of birth

o    Marks card of 10+2

o    Conduct and Character certificate obtained on the School/College letter head/pad. No other certificate in lieu of this will be accepted

o    Transfer certificate or School/College Leaving Certificate issued by the School/College. No other certificate in lieu of this will be accepted

o    Four recent and identical passport size photographs and one stamp size photograph

o    Fees: As applicable for the programme

o    Copy of PAN card of parent

o    Authorization letter if representative is attending on behalf of candidate

o    One set of photocopies of all the above documents

 

 

IMPORTANT NOTE:All the candidates should produce the above mentioned original documents and one set of photocopies for verification.

 

B) On the day of counselling

 

Ø  The physical presence of the candidate at the counselling is mandatory. If a candidate is prevented by unavoidable circumstances from being physically present for the counselling, he/shemay authorize another individual to represent him/her at the counselling.  This representative must carry the authorization. CLICK HERE for the authorization letter format.

Ø  Only the candidate/representative will be allowed into the counselling hall. 

Ø  Candidate should fill the registration forms available at the registration counter

Ø  Candidates will be called as per their MU-OET 2016 rank for document verification.  The original documents will be returned back to the candidate after verification.  The original documents should be submitted on the day of orientation.Successful candidates will be allotted seats according to their rank and number of seats available in the respective campus.  Such candidates should pay the first year fees at the counselling.  Manipal University will not entertain any requests for extension in this regard.

Ø  Absence of the candidate or his/her representative at the indicated reporting time and date will result in the instantaneous forfeiture of any claim for a seat.

Ø  The choice of course made by the candidate/representative is final and binding and cannot be altered later under any circumstances.

 

 

C) After Admission

 

Ø  Allotment order and receipt/s for the payment made will be given to the candidate on completion of the admission process.

Ø  Candidates who require hostel facility should contact the Chief Warden of the allotted institution for hostel enrollment.

Ø  Candidates should report to the allotted college on or before the reporting date mentioned in the allotment order.

 

D) Waitlist

 

When the seats in which the candidate is interested are filled (not vacant), the candidates may choose to be waitlisted.  Also the candidates who are admitted and wish to upgrade their seat, may choose to be waitlisted.
