Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham is conducting its Engineering Entrance Examination every year on an all India basis for admission to the 4 year B.Tech. Degree programmes offered in the three campuses at Amritapuri (Kollam), Bengaluru and Ettimadai (Coimbatore). Candidates who satisfy the eligibility criteria will be admitted to the first year of 4 year B.Tech. programmes through counselling, based on their ranks in the Entrance Examination.

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham is a University established under section 3 of the UGC Act 1956. The University focuses on higher education and research in the areas of Engineering, Medicine, Management, Science, Education, Mass Communication and Social Work. About AEEE 2019

Amrita Entrance Examination Engineering (AEEE) is an institution level entrance examination conducted for admission to various undergraduate B.Tech programmes offered by Amrita Schools of Engineering. Every year, Amrita University (Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham) organizes this entrance examination.

The University has three campuses in Coimbatore, Amritapuri, and Bengaluru. AEEE is organized in two separate modes – Online (Computer Based Test) and Offline (Pen and Paper Based Test).

Following are the courses offered:

  • B.Tech. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering

  • B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering

  • B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering

  • B.Tech. in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering

  • B.Tech. in Aerospace Engineering

  • B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering

  • B.Tech. in Civil Engineering

Detailed Eligibility Criteria for AEEE 2019


  • Indian national and Foreign national candidates are eligible to apply.

Age limit:

  • Applicants whose date of birth, as per school records, falls on or after July 1, 1998, will be eligible for AEEE 2019.

Educational Qualification:

  • Applicants must have cleared class 12 exam or equivalent examination from any recognised board.

  • Those appearing for the qualifying examination in March/April 2019 can also apply for admission.

Subject Combination:

  • Applicants should have passed Class 12 examination and should have studied Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.

Minimum Marks:

  • Applicants must have secured an aggregate of 60% in the qualifying examination.

  • In each of the subjects that are Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics candidates must have secured not less than 55%.

Detailed Exam Pattern of AEEE 2019

Exam Mode:

  • Online (Computer-based) mode – For online mode, applicants will have to mark their responses on the computer.

  • Offline (Paper-based) mode – For offline mode, applicants will have to mark their answers in the printed OMR answer sheets.

Exam Duration:

  • The total duration for both online and offline mode is 2 hours and 30 minutes.

  • Applicants must reach their respective exam centres on time.

  • No student will be allowed to leave the exam hall before the end of the exam.

  • In AEEE 2019, the question paper will be in objective type format (multiple choice questions). Each question will have four options out of which applicants will have to choose one most appropriate answer.

Marking Scheme:

  • Applicants will be awarded 3 marks, for every correct response.

  • 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect response.

  • If applicants give more than one response to a particular question, it will be treated as ‘incorrect answer’ and 1 mark will be deducted.

  • If no response is indicated for a particular question, no mark will be awarded or deducted.

How to Apply for AEEE 2019

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham (popularly known as Amrita University) has released the AEEE 2019 application form on 19th October 2018. The application form of AEEE 2019 has been made available in both modes viz online and offline. Applicants are required to fill the application form till 10th April 2019 for Online & 25th April 2019 for offline mode. Amrita University is going to organised AEEE 2019 in online mode from 22nd to 26th April 2019 in 3 Slots per day. While the offline AEEE 2019 will be held on 27th April 2019 only in Tamil Nadu. Also, applicants have the option to apply through JEE Main 2019 score.

Those candidates applying through JEE Main will also have to complete the AEEE 2019 application process. However, such candidates will be exempted from appearing in AEEE 2019 examination as their JEE Main 2019 rank will be considered for admissions. To apply online, the candidates simply need to go to the online application portal and complete the application process.

The application process of AEEE 2019 consists of various steps such as registration as a new user, filling the application form, uploading the photograph, payment of the application fee and submission of AEEE application form. Applicants must note that while filling the online application form, they must select a slot as per their preference and availability and also check the detailed eligibility criteria of  AEEE 2019.

Steps to Apply for AEEE Online Application form 2019

To fill online application form of AEEE 2019, applicants must follow the below steps:

Step: 1 AEEE 2019 Registration

The first step is to fill AEEE 2019 application form is to register for AEEE 2019. In order to register, applicants will have to enter their Date of Birth and a valid Email-ID.

  • After entering, a confirmation E-mail will be sent to the registered Email-ID.

Step: 2 Filling AEEE 2019 Application Form

  • After registering, applicants will have to enter their basic details such as 

    • Personal Details i.e Name, Address & Contact details

    • Academic Details i.e year of passing/appearing, the status of examination (pass/ fail), marks details, Last attended school

    • Family Details i.e Name & Income details

    • Programme Preference: It must be noted the Programme preference is a combination of both campus and branch to be updated prior to registration for counseling.

  • After that, applicants will have to provide Mode of admission i.e AEEE / JEE

    • For AEEE 2019: Choose Examination Center, Date, and Slot

    • For JEE (Mains) 2019: Enter the details as in JEE scorecard

  • Applicants also have an option of Choice of the city to attend AEEE 2019 Examination.

  • Applicants must make sure that they fill the correct information which matches with the information of the documents that has to be submitted later for verification.

  • After checking all the details, click on ‘I Confirm’ tab.

Important Note:

In the application form, the name of the applicant and his/her parent's should be exactly same as is registered in class 12th / equivalent qualification examination. Prefix / Title like Mr. / Mr. / Fra / Dr. / Smt / Smt / Colonel etc. should not be used.

Step: 3 Uploading Scanned Images

  • To proceed further, applicants will have to upload scanned images of their Passport size colour photograph (recent) and Signature (as per specifications).

  • Applicants must note that the photo should be clear and in .jpg format

Step 4 - Preview Option

  • Applicants will be able to see/ re-check the information they have filled in their application and submit the application fees.

Important Note:

  • It must be noted that fee submitted through any other mode like money order, demand draft, IPO etc. is not accepted for online applications.

Step:6 Submission of AEEE 2019 Application Form

  • After successfully filling the AEEE 2019 application form, applicants must take a print out of the application form for future use

Steps to Apply for AEEE Offline Application form 2019

To fill the offline application form of AEEE 2019, applicants will have to obtain AEEE 2019 application form in person.

  • AEEE 2019 application form will be available at the University counter of Amrita School of Engineering at Amritapuri, Bengaluru, and Coimbatore.

  • Applicants will have to pay INR 1000/- via demand draft drawn in favor of Amrita School of Engineering payable at Coimbatore to access the application form:

Important Note: 

  • It is important that those applicants who are purchasing offline application are required to send the application at the earliest.

  • To complete the application process, applicants will receive an SMS with the link to fill the remaining details. The data will be filled on the application as mentioned above for online application.

  • Applicants will have to fill the application before the last date of submission.

  • Any request for change will not be accepted through offline mode i.e. via fax/application including e-mail etc.

Correction of the AEEE 2019 Application Form

Once the AEEE 2019 Application Form is filled, the provision to correct is not available so candidates are advised to fill it very carefully. However, if some mistakes are made, then the candidates can contact the authorities on the following numbers.

Slot Booking Process for AEEE 2019

The slot booking process is only applicable for those candidates who have selected the online (computer based mode) for AEEE 2019 examination. One candidate has to submit three preferences from the list of cities, in these cities, the examination will be held in one center. The preferences submitted by the candidate are only indicative and a guide to the university for deciding the number of cities & centres. 

One candidate will be allotted one of the three preferred cities, preferably the first favorite city. If the examination on the first preference of a candidate cannot be conducted, then it will be applied for the second/third priority.


  • If any city in the list is cancelled due to very less registrations, the candidates who have opted for that city will be allotted another nearest city and the same will be informed to the candidates by email.

  • Test Centre, Number of days and Number of operating slots in a day will be finalized based on the number of candidates for a particular city.

Steps to Apply for Slot booking 

  • Visit the official website. Log in using your Application Number and Date-of-Birth.

  • After logging in, you can select the test date and test slots based on the availability. 

  • To choose the date, click on the available date and click the 'continue' tab. 

  • In the next screen, you will be directed to select the test slot based on its availability status.

  • Note: Since other applicants are also simultaneously using the same slot booking portal, sometimes the, status presented may change when the applicant finishes thei selection and the particularmslot chosen by the applicant may not be available. In such case, the applicant will be directed to choose another date and hence the slot will be given on that date.

  • To change the Slot test date, click on Change Slot Test Date Tab.

  • Click 'Confirm Slot' tab to confirm booking.

  • The address of the examination centre will be mentioned in the AEEE 2019 Admit Card.

Note: After successfully selected the test date and centre, no request for change will be entertained under any circumstances.




Eligibilty : 


Age - Candidates shall be born on or after 1st July 1994.

Educational Qualification - A pass in 10+2 (class XII)or its equivalent securing an aggregate of 60% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry with not less than 55% marks in each of these three subjects.


A three year Diploma in Engineering with minimum 60% marks, awarded by any State Board of Technical Education or its equivalent.

Note: Those who appear for the above examinations in March/April 2015 may also apply.

Seat allotment through Counselling will be based on the eligibility and rank obtained by the Candidate in the Amrita Entrance Examination - Engineering 2015.

Scholarship Scheme: Norms

  1.  Scholarship will be provided to 15% of the top ranking candidates, who passed the qualifying examination from Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu and admitted in the respective campuses.
  2.  Scholarship amount of Rs. 50,000/- per annum will be waived from the tuition fees.
  3.  Award of scholarship will be governed by the rules framed for the purpose.

AEEE 2019 B.Tech Counselling Process

AEEE 2019 Counselling will be started from 10th May 2019. The counselling procedure will be commenced soon after the publication of rank list. It is necessary to secure rank to be eligible for the counselling. The counselling will be carried out at Amrita's three campuses in Amritapuri, Coimbatore, and Bengaluru. There will be a total of four AEEE 2019 B.Tech counselling sessions at different time slots. Candidates are advised to keep all their documents handy to avoid last minute tension and panic situation.

Candidates are offered admission to an academic programme based on their academic preferences and based on All India Ranks / Score of JEE (Mains) – 2019 or based on the rank secured in AEEE 2019.

The counselling process involves Registration for counselling by paying counselling charges, academic preference submissions, Allotment of Seat, Acceptance of Seat Offered, Payment of Fees and Verification of Documents. The allocation of seat is done separately for candidates with AEEE 2019 rank and JEE Mains 2019 rank/score. Candidates are advised to visit the website regularly for continuous updates on the counselling process. The university may admit an AEEE 2019 candidate having a good score in JEE Mains 2019 if they get a better option of academic preference.

AEEE counseling is done separately for each category i.e. on the basis of SC / ST and general rank. According to the University norms seats for SC / ST are earmarked.

The registration for counselling will start after few days of the publication of AEEE  2019 rank list. Any candidate who has secured a rank is eligible to participate in counselling process. Also, the Registration for counselling for JEE Mains 2019 candidates will start after few days of the publication of JEE Mains 2019 results.
