Exam pattern of JEE MAIN 2019

 

JEE (Main)-2019 will be conducted in the following mode:

  • Paper-1 (B.E. /B. Tech.) in “Computer Based Test (CBT)” mode only.
  • Paper-2 (B. Arch/ B.Planning): Mathematics- Part I and Aptitude Test-Part II in “Computer Based Test (CBT)” mode only and Drawing Test –Part III in “Pen & Paper Based” (offline) mode to be attempted on drawing sheet.

Type of Examination

  • JEE (Main)–2019 shall have two papers, Paper-1 (B. E. /B. Tech.) and Paper-2 (B. Arch.
  • /B.Planning). Candidates may take Paper-1 (B. E. /B. Tech.), or Paper-2 (B. Arch. /B.Planning.), or both as per the course(s) they are seeking admission to.
  • Subject combinations for each paper, type of questions in each paper and mode of examination is given in the table below:

Choice of Medium of Question Papers

The medium of Question Paper shall be in English, Hindi and Gujarati. The option of question paper language should be exercised while filling up the Application Form and it cannot be changed at a later stage

English or Hindi (Candidates from Gujarat, Daman & Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli can opt for Gujarati as well)

 

 

JEE Main Exam pattern  - Paper 2

 

 

Exam Mode

Mathematics and Aptitude test will be computer-based, whereas Drawing test will be conducted in pen-and-paper mode

Exam Duration

3 hours

Subjects

Mathematics, General Aptitude, and Drawing skills

Total number of questions

82 (Mathematics 30 questions, Aptitude 50 and Drawing 2)

Type of Questions

Maths and Aptitude will be objective type while drawing section will have questions to test the drawing and sketching skills

Marking Scheme

4 marks will be awarded for every correct response; for incorrect response 1 mark will be deducted. No marks will be given for unattempted questions.

Maximum Marks

Total of 390 Marks (Drawing section will be of total 70 marks, marking of every question will be given along with it.)
